Hi from R48, expat-Fido, here to share retirement wisdom from over three decades experience

Something happened this morning at the old Fido site. The mods deleted an entire thread talking about the updated site. I would not be surprised if they eventually abandon it.

@aja8888 ...Is that a Michigan shirt you are wearing:ermm:. Sorry, but I had thirteen relatives, nieces/nephews and three daughters graduate from Penn State. The real he-man sport is Wrestling and Penn State just won its 12th NCAA Team Championship in the last14 years. I recruited for Penn State in the upstate NY Saratoga region for three decades, both football players (Paterno years) and academic students.

Best wishes...

Hi VW, glad to hear from an old "Boglehead", and those "many roads to Dublin." I consider myself a Boglehead with Four Twists. The twists involve some "active management" of my portfolio, and the pure Bogleheads say that means I am not a boglehead! I have survived.

Good day, VW

LOL I participated on the Bogle board for a bit, but was highly chastised for buying individual bonds.

amazing story! Recently many people joined from fidelity forum. Great gain for us here, much to learn from you. I also retired last year at 48, and your journey encourages me very much for this new life stage.

Hi aciranger @aciranger ...Wow, not too often I encounter others who retired at age 48. Great.

As part of my retirement, a concern is what would one do, retiring this early. Thus, my spouse and I took a year to develop a list we titled: One Hundred Things To Do in the Rest of Our Lives. Due to a famous movie it is now called a "Bucket's List."

We completed 67 to date. I plan to make in the near future an original post of this List, asking also how many on my list have others similarly completed as well. I will share lessons learned as well. The last time I posted the same-title thread, had over 1000 replies (since truncated) so I need to be prepared.

Best wishes on your retirement.

I will look forward to seeing the list. I'm trying to think whether I've even DONE 100 things in my life time!! I've been to Europe, but never to any other continent, for instance.

Hi Idnar7. Morningstar and I together created the forum called Portfolio Design/Management which I considered was the missing ingredient to all the sub-forums. This same forum has been carried onto other investing website forums, so I conclude it was well liked.

Good day.
