Hi, I'm schrodingerscat aka cheris1 on the Fido community forum.

Off topic but I'm curious how you chose your screen name. I recall Shchrodinger's Cat thought experiment from University Physics 3XX some (almost) 60 years ago for me now. Those of us non-physics majors called the course "Science Fiction for Chemists."
Hi Koolau, I chose that name b/c it seemed to "fit." I have an amateurish interest in physics.

Hi. Still learning the ins and outs of this forum, and realized I never gave an overall intro.
About 4 years ago we traded the "shades of brown" in Northern NV for "shades of green" in the Puget Sound area of WA. While adjusting to the humidity change, we have been enjoying learning about the wide variety of outdoor activities.
In 2006 I retired from full time work to take on a consulting position doing analytical work, review and approval of documents for the government on a part time basis.
Finally in 2019 I retired for good. The best part of this position was that I could work remote. So, in the fall of 2013, sold our house in the SW, and "roamed' for 2 1/2 yrs. Had a plan, knowing we would be "homeless", and traveled the US, spending time in the winter in Florida on the emerald coast. Summers were planned mostly visiting Nat'l Parks, including a 2 month visit to AK. Unlike a lot of people we met, we did not have a RV, so a lot of advance planning took place. In 2016, we decided to settle down in NV.
I grew up in NE, and started my engineering career in KS. Have lived all over the US, enjoyed them all, but a few placed I would not like to go back and live.
My initial introduction to CEFs was by a gentleman who wrote on the SA platform for many years. I have changed my CEF investment philosophy over the last few years. Love to read everyone's comments, especially Dick on Cape Cod, Mootsie and Cheris. I miss the old Fidelity Forum, lurk there some now, but looking forward to learning and moving on here at ER.

Great intro. Thanks for sharing. I'm barely literate in CEFs (Okay, probably illiterate). Hoping to learn from you and others.

Thanks for the explanation.

That final physics class made me SO glad I was a chemist in training. I could learn and manipulate the formulas but never could truly understand quantum physics though agree that physics is fascinating. I loved classical physics!

Always liked your BDC thread(ARCC,BXLL,FDUS,MAIN,TPVG) TPVG bought during covid and buy and sell PSEC for fun. Have ARCC for years and add on dips. Glad to see a lot of Fido people here
