How To Thank An Oncologist?

Here's another vote for the thank you note.

I don't know his affiliations, but that about whether any letters to his affiliations with a cc to him might be appreciated as well. When I have gotten especially good service, I have written letters to supervisors and such, detailing why I have been pleased with the service. This has always been very well received.

A patient of mine wrote a wonderful letter of praise about me and sent it to the CEO of our hospital. He copied me on the letter.

I was so touched!

I saved that and all of the handwritten notes of thanks I have received over the years.

I am planning on a donation to the cancer center in honor of the oncologist, and gift cards for the 3 radiation therapists - with hand written notes in each case. I'd be more than happy to give something to the oncologist, but it appears that's not an acceptable practice. Hopefully my plan won't break any norms.

I doubt that's the norm, but I do think it will be very much appreciated. More for the fact that you are acknowledging the value of their services and your gratitude, then the actual gift.
