I just heard that Inflation has risen to over 4%! I am sure there will be articles posted soon. Although I have noticed Petrol is down in our area to $3.39 a gallon at Costco. (I only ever buy petrol at Costco) Exclude Fuel and Core inflation was actually a little lower.

Sams was $3.19 yesterday. That's what I was paying this time last year.

Your title says less than 4% (<4%) but your post says over 4% (>4%). You might want to fix that.

Back to the good old days of 2022 and 2023 area.

FWIW, inflation in my area was running about 2% more than the national average (4.9% vs 2.8%). I hate to think of what it will running now.

Gasoline here is up 52% from pre-war levels, down from a high of up 72% a few weeks previously.

Eggs are ~$1.65/dozen, down considerably.

Wages are growing, but the latest inflation report shows prices are growing faster — so people effectively have less money than they had 12 months ago.

Largely in line with expectations.

yep, 4.2 inflation.
cheapest gas here is $4.69, according to gas buddy, bought few groceries yesterday, no meats, mostly fresh fruit/veggies, some staples, out the door with two bags and $90 less.

Interestingly, I’ve had occasion to shop for electricity plans twice recently, and from what I can see the jump to higher fuel prices has not yet filtered into electricity rates.

Inflation artificially higher due to the war. Might as well reference the years we have had a recession since 2000 and go from there.

Needed lot's of fuel this week. Regular was 3.49, Premium 3.95 and Diesel 4.49.

gas here is 5.49/gallon. Our cost of living has been steadily going up for a very long time and is definitely not in line with the wages. Like many places, people retiring here from more expensive places and buying homes has greatly increased the cost of real estate and everything else.

That’s one reason when I got divorced five years ago I immediately bought a condo because it’s much too expensive to rent. Plus, I didn’t want to have to move in my senior years.
