Thinks s/he gets paid by the post
Hi,
We have been playing around with FIRECalc and have questions about the Investigate feature. We quadruple checked our inputs and all other results seem correct. First, would someone please provide an explanation of “Spending Level”. Also, two specific questions:
1. In the results graph, what are the numbers on the horizontal axis?
2. We will have SIRE (pensions & SocSec) that cover almost 2X our annual spending. In addition, we have a seven digit portfolio. So, why would the results return “A spending level” that is lower than our SIRE? Especially since FIRECalc states, “Your spending is assumed to come from any Social Security and pensions you entered, as well as from the portfolio.”
In case it matters, we are mid 50s and still w*rking.
Thanks!
