Is it too late to have a new home built in one's 70s?

I enjoy the challenge of building anything. I would build one if I were you and both of you are on the same page.

I asked my wife not long ago if she would like to build a new home. She said, no. I would like to do most of the work myself and mix in some of the work to be contracted out though. The only issue I see doing the build myself would be less time I could spend on all the things I love to do. Be an investment also.
