Is it worth doing this side hustle?

Unless your portfolio is really low, the best side gig is probably figuring out ways to reduce your spending. Do some of your own home repairs, shop around for better rates on insurance, drop subscriptions you don't use/check for deals on other subscriptions. The bonus here is reducing spending does not add to your taxes.

What’s a low portfolio? How low? I am a minimalist so pretty much there at minimum spending. Already so what you mentioned.

Don't get hurt when your old trying to work like you were young. You don't have to prove it anymore. Take care everyone. Please don't get hurt trying to prove you still can.

A low portfolio I guess would be one that generated income where your annual expenses result in misery rather than happiness.

When I retired, the thought of working a part time job crossed my mind. Then I realized that it would be about 20% of my working hourly rate. Then I realized, if I needed more money, I should have just worked longer. That was clearly the best option financially speaking. Since I don’t actually need more money, I found other/better things to do with my time.

If I was in the accumulation phase and felt I need to accumulate more money, I most likely would have just chosen to work a little longer. Maybe you should revisit your plan.

More OT it is.

Also will do plasma donation for money and CC/Checking churn.

This logic has kept me working in the current job.

2800 miles over a year, averaging 7-8 hours per week? That’s only 55 miles per week. Seems like 7-8 hours is a lot for just 55 miles driven, especially when some of those miles are unreimbursed,
Back when I used to deliver, I'd put an easy 200 miles on the car, on a busy Friday or Saturday night. And that would usually represent about 7-8 hours of driving. I usually started my shift at 5, and we tended to close either at midnight or 1 am. They tended to vary the closing time. They'd figure that it wasn't worth staying open until 1, so they'd roll it back to midnight. But then try closing at 1 again, only to once again realize there was usually no business.
