Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is the major thing that "binds" Testosterone. And most of it is bound.
The liver makes SHBG.
So I want to know if it makes MORE SHBG when it processes more fatty acids. If so, then a Keto Diet would raise your SHBG.
My very ancient understanding was that SHBG caused T to be sequestered in fat cells. Hence reducing bodyfat improves T levels. Maybe that's not true, or so simple.
Discussion of all the binding molecules & difficulties in getting accurate & reproducible tests of T levels, and how different binding molecules act.
