Going to vegas in March. Has anyone been to the sphere? Was it worth the price? How about the neon museum? Any other recommendations? This is my fourth trip there so looking at things to do away from the strip and Fremont street. Have already done red rocks, Hoover dam, death valley and the grand canyon.

Valley of Fire State Park is about an hour north. Worth a visit on the way to Utah’s national parks or as a destination from Vegas. There are short hikes at different stops as you drive through to see red sandstone formations. Petroglyphs too.
There are other petroglyph sites around Vegas too.

We have been to the sphere. Saw the Postcard from Earth show. Incredible. It’s IMAX on steroids. I thought I was going to fall out of my seat.

The Atomic Museum is pretty cool

I’ll second the Valley of Fire. I would LOVE to see a concert at the Sphere. Are The Eagles still playing?
We went to the daily Sphere movie in November. Very cool but a BTD at over $100 pp. Being there was helpful though, as we now have Eagles tickets for March! Even more BTD, but we understood what the different areas inside would be like for a concert. They are likely to add more dates.

Las Vegas has some really thrilling rides. The Strat and the SkyJump are fantastic, and you can also find a “regular” bungee jump option.

Of all the attractions I experienced in Vegas, a helicopter ride through the canyons was by far the most memorable. Flew from Vegas to several canyons, seeing Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Mojave, red rocks formations along the way, then flew down into the canyons well below the rim for a thrilling ride, landed in the canyon for a champagne, then back to Vegas. Not cheap, but fantastic IME. I have no idea which service we used, but this might be the one. Wind Dancer
The ground drops away as you enter the majestic Grand Canyon and fly for over 10 miles through this geographic marvel. Gaze at the time-forged shapes and stunning coloration as the canyon walls surround. Descend and land 3,500 feet below the rim on Hualapai Indian Territory. Champagne, beverages and light snacks will be served some 300 feet above the mighty Colorado River atop Maverick Helicopters' private bluff deep within this natural wonder.

On my last trip, I went out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway and got to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo for 5 laps. Also included a private driving lesson beforehand. It's something I'll remember forever.

Also voting for Valley of Fire.
Also Red Rocks state park. It's about 20 minutes outside Vegas, due north. You need to get timed entry to drive the loop - but it is a stunning drive loop.

The Atomic Museum is pretty cool

Second this! The Atomic Museum was so so interesting! And I’m not a science nerd whatsoever!

There was an old cautionary sign from one of the assembly floors displayed. It read ‘Use Your Head!’ I remember thinking how far we’d fallen from when a reminder to simply ‘use your head’ was considered warning enough, even for a builder of atomic bombs.

Thanks for posting this. We're going to Phoenix in May and decided to add Las Vegas to the front of our trip. Great info here!

A couple of other things I would add-
The tour of Alegiant stadium is fun as well as an Aviators baseball game in Sumerlin.

Never been to Las Vegas. Drove past it once crossing Nevada in the motorhome and could see the strip in the far distance.

I did the Death Valley day trip and didn't understand the attraction.

If alluvial fans, sand dunes, salt flats, colorful vistas and canyons, or volcanic craters, ghost towns, mining relics don’t interest you, there’s probably nothing else for you there. Plus the summer temperatures often exceed 120F. Yikes!
