Learning new things in retirement

I also looked into the Dave Ramsey financial coach program. I too wanted to provide free training, but at $2500 for the program, I put it on the back burner.
I was looking into this: AFC® Certification

But yeah, still a couple grand by the time all is said and done. I think Dave Ramsey is entertaining and has some great ideas on the psychology of money and getting out of debt, but he lost me well before doubling down on an 8% withdrawal rate in retirement being "safe" if invested 100% in equities. Looks dismal in FIRECalc, dismal to Morningtar and crazy to ERN. I think ERN got it just about exactly right.

I have been lucky enough to be able to teach throughout my career and although I am 'retired' I continue to be able to teach and learn new things for and from the students every session.

My kids (in their 30s) were home for Christmas and decided to play games on Netflix. It was a simple 4x4 word find game, everyone uses their phone and logs in. The puzzle shows up on your phone and you swipe words and get scores, longer word count for more. Not to brag, my kids excelled in school and are very smart (must be from their mother) but we had two other people and I consistently got the lowest score. I can blame my age at 70, but I'm now on a quest to get better by next Christmas. I hope I can learn.
I have to say my daughter got all the praise from school and did get better grades, but she worked for it, my son got good grades but did very little homework and didn't care. He smoked everyone at that game.
