I have been searching for the little disc that is inserted into a lamp socket before the bulb is screwed in to dim the bulb.
It is a simple diode inserted inside a disc to fit a lamp socket. I want to reduce the brightness of the 40 watt bulb in my sauna.

Just throwing out an idea... buy a dimmer bulb... maybe 25 watt?

Hmm... I thought I'd checked the local stores and could not find a smaller wattage in the E26 base. I went to Amazon and found what I need in a 25 watt bulb. It's on order.
The 40 watt I have been using actually softened one side of the cover until it sagged and when I turned it over the other side sagged and created a hole.
