Lose Weight. Another dream that is hard to do.

I'm definitely less hungry if i am more active . . . if you never eat from stress or boredom or workout hard this may not apply,

29k steps this morning! (11 miles for me - measured with an old school pedometer- not something that gives me steps if I move my arm)

Back in the 90's, I participated in a chip tasting trial. It turned out it was for chips with Olestra/Olean. I don't know if you remember that fat substitute, but it could cause pounds to slide right out of you. :2funny:
Small world! Funny that I was also in an Olestra trial on potato during my undergrad years in college. Ironically, the nutrition department was funding the research!

Anal leakage.

That's not how it works. :) Your body produces most of the cholesterol it needs. If you take in more cholesterol from your diet, your body produces less. And heart disease has nothing to do with your cholesterol/fat intake.

This is false.

You are correct in that your body produces cholesterol and also correct that the the cholesterol you get in food is not really a big culprit. However consumption of large amounts of saturated fats and just excess calories / body fat in general will cause the body to produce more cholesterol, to the point it starts to build up plaques in your arteries.

This is not how human biology works. Your arteries are not drain pipes that get clogged by grease. The plaques in arteries are the result of damage to the artery and are a combination of many substances, not just lipoprotiens. A heart attack happens when these plaques rupture. What causes this damage is still not well known but is likely due to something introduced into our lives in the last 120 years such as a sugar based diet and/or smoking. It's certainly not due to something we've been eating as a species for hundreds of thousands of years.

We have been on a few cruises lately. We try to lose 15 pounds each before we go. On our latest cruise we were both successful in doing so. No expensive diets, just limiting salt and carbs in addition to portion control and not eating out.

The great thing is that we only gained 7 & 5 pounds back respectively and have managed to keep it off.
