I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I hate to say it but I'm always kind of relieved when it's over.

My Mom, Brother and I went up to northern Michigan for three days, then came back to my Mother's house on Christmas eve. My nephew and niece and their soon to be SO's came here today. We had a great meal and did the gift exchange. I just lost in a game of cards.

I still have a week of vacation. I'll be here with my Mom until the 1st. She is going to have laser surgery to remove a cataract on the 27th, so I'm glad I will be home for that.

What did everyone else do on Christmas ?

My family and my daughter's boyfriend went to my sister's house for Christmas. Our Christmas was very nice. It is always nice to be able to kick back and relax after the holidays are over though!

A very quiet Christmas with just DW and myself - since our relatives and adult kids are all in Canada.  First time in about 30 years it has been just the 2 of us and we came into the holidays a little on the depressed side because of that.

However, we didn't get caught up in the shopping hassles and 'visit the relatives' hassles.  We also planned a Christmas dinner just the way we would have with guests around (but with less food) and we had a very nice, fun day.  In some ways better because we got up when we wanted, enjoyed the cheer when we wanted, ate when we wanted, and went for a glorious walk in the bright blue cloudless Texas day when we wanted (after eating too much anyway).

We now intend to enjoy the next week relaxing and practicing for ER before I have to go back to work in January.  A nice launch into FIRE that is coming on May 1.

We had a house full of dh's kids and grandkids, his sis and bro, some of my family wandered in an out along with some friends. A nice evening spent with people we care about. Today was dinner at my parents, small gathering only 2 of the 6 kids showed up, myself and dh along with my sis and her son.

Now DH and I are kicking back and vowing not to eat so much next year.

5 Adults, 6 Dogs, and waiting for a call from our oldest Son in China who we have not seen for a year.

Too much food, but all in all, it went well.

My 86 year old Dad, on a Caribbean Cruise with his girl friend.

Quiet day at home.

Our 13-year-old actually didn't haul herself out of bed until almost 9 AM. I think that's the latest she's EVER gotten up for Christmas.

Lazing around the house, cleaning out a couple closets for next week's Goodwill donations, working on jigsaw puzzles, losing at Monopoly-- the usual priceless family activities. Now I have to install some editing software to clean up the holiday photos-- this new @#$* computer doesn't have MicroSoft Photo Editor and apparently the program itself is no longer produced.

Somehow I didn't get around to soldering plumbing pipes in the attic, but there's always tomorrow. So waddya DO all day?

Another metaphor for ER-- every day is Christmas!

Nords,
Try google's Picasa. It's a cool photo editing and management app, and it's free.

We had a nice dinner together last night. Leg of Lamb with a Brunello.
Today we hit the beach for some windsurfing. Later, when the wind completely died, I paddled out for an evening surf session. For awhile I was the only one out with some clean head high sets. A perfect Christmas.

Greg cooked. My sister, brother, neice and grandneice came for dinner. We all ate to much and laughed a lot. Fun to have a baby in the house. Greg watched the baby while my sibs, neice and I went for a long walk in the dark.

Very nice day.

I hope I will be able to do that if I make it to 86.  :-\

We had our Christmas on Christmas eve. Sis-in-law and her 2 kids drove over from AL and we all spent the day with my Mother and Aunt. We all ate to much too. Looks like I will have a few pounds to shed starting 1/1/06.  :-[

Thanks, JB. I knew Picasa was an organizer but I had no idea it had editing software too.

Looks like quite a program-- no wonder Microsoft abandoned Photo Editor...

We had xmas on the 24th, as half the family and several neighbors work at various hospitals and they have to work at least one of the major hollidays. So yesterday was "The Man Show" at my house while all our wives worked.

Photo editor is still on MS Office versions from 97 to XP, with the XP version being a pretty good one. If you have one of those old cd's, you should be able to insert it and install just the photo editor from it...

Odd day for me. DW worked, kids not around, subdivision
deserted. I did some bill paying and business/investment
stuff I'd been putting off, then had dinner with my folks.
In the p.m. I took the dog on a long walk, and watched the Paclers
lose (again). Ate too much as usual and turned in early.
Enjoyed the day on some level. Next "Christmas" in Jan. 5, '06
when all my grandkids will be here.

Ahhhh, there it is... thanks!

It was a nice couple of days, among family and friends. With the next generation, my very young nieces and nephews, it was loads of fun. Two played "Mary and Joseph" in a Christmas pageant. Went from that to a nice, late dinner with friends. Spent Christmas morning "on the circuit" going to the many houses that are in my family clan, exchanging gifts and stories and laughs. Mom and Dad invited the ones wthout in-laws to dinner in the afternoon. Went for a walk with my oldest big brother. Stopped to see friends on the way home. Went to bed exhausted at about 8:30 p.m. Half my family has the flu, and that's probably around the corner.

Good Christmas.  Got together with family, dozen or so adults, about 10 kids, 2 babies, everything and everyone going every which way.  Good food.  Good to see people that we really don't see except on Chistmas.  Everyone in good spirits.  Glad we had it.
Glad its over!

I have a pretty big extended family so it's always the same:

DH and I had Christmas Eve dinner with my parents and sister and brother-in-law who are in visiting from Newfoundland and then went to Midnight Mass. Spent Christmas day again at the folks house and then went to my aunt and uncle's and saw quite few of the cousins and their kids. Today, which is Boxing Day, we're going to another aunt and uncle's and then tomorrow is mom and dad's annual Christmas party. I always look forward to Dec. 28th because that's when I don't have to see anymore extended relatives for a while :p

The weather was beautiful here yesterday....15C which is about 60F.
