Downsizing into a container was the best thing we ever did. If forced us to prioritize and to make decisions in a timely fashion. The container was only in the driveway for 10 days. It felt so good to stuff our mattress on the last day, close and lock the doors, and then see it taken away. A lifetime it would seem in an 8X8X16 container,
We planned ahead about what and how we would pack and load. Even then, there were some surprises.
Looking back, it was one of the best decisions that we made after early retirement. Blew out the cobwebs, forced us to change certain habits, and moved us toward placing more value on experiences, travel, family, etc than on possessions and things that in retrospect were of little importance to our lives.
Still not certain how the crowbar and the tile saw made it into the container though. The latter has since found a far better home.
