I misplaced my glasses about 30 minutes ago and have no clue where it is at. I remember setting in down somewhere but got distracted and didn't remember where is the where. Pretty difficult to do as not many place to look but I have no clue as to where I put it. Finding the glasses again can range anywhere from an hour to days. I lost it by accident and may end up finding it by accident.

The DW and I both use reading glasses for close up stuff. They are not needed for watching TV or driving, etc. The way we solved the problem of misplacing our reading glasses is, we bought about 10 pair. They are everywhere. :)

I'm now wearing my computer classes so I'm not like Mr. Magoo. It's just irritating that the glasses almost vanished in thin air. The forgetful mind is quicker than the eye.

I misplace things all the time, especially after housecleaning. The best method is to retrace your steps. But if you need glasses to see (as I do) good luck. That's why I keep my older glasses as a backup.

I won't say it either...

I have an AirTag on my keys and had one on my wallet, but that one fell out. I do my best to always put my wallet back in my backpack.

cd : O)

The good news. Glasses found. The bad news. I must have hallucinated earlier.

Each night, I set my glasses on this wooden bear statue in my bedroom made for holding glasses. Then each morning first thing I do is put on my glasses and go about my day.

When the glasses were misplaced, I distinctly remember setting my glasses down somewhere. But searching around where I thought it could have been (bathroom, living, kitchen) had not luck. So, I gave up and went about my day only to look and see the glasses sitting right on the wooden bear statue.

So, either I imagined that I took them off an placed them somewhere or perhaps I was using my computer glasses and thought they were my regular glasses. I think probably the latter, but my mind was thinking I did my regular routine.

No fun losing my mind .

I used to think that I'd make a good witness at crime scene. Now as I get older, I think I'd make a terrible witness forgetting details .

Glad you found them.
I lost a pair several months ago, could not find them. I knew where I had placed them, but looked all around and didn't see them. Ended up going and getting a new pair, as my older pair was really bad (I always keep the old one when I get a new one, just for such reasons).
It really bugged me that I couldn't find them, even blamed puppy for taking them and burying them outside.
Finally had DH look again with a flashlight, he found them, resting in the bottom mechanics of our recliner. Luckily they were unharmed!! They were where I thought they were, fallen down the side of the chair, I simply didn't see them when I looked.
So now I have two pair that work great.

I "think" I can remember details pretty well for hours/days ago. Now about 1/2 the time if you ask me to remember why I just got up, or what I was going to lookup on the Internet 30 seconds ago, forget it.

Next time lose your phone it is easier to find, just have your wife call it.

Same here. I use readers and have extras all around the house.
Same here, I buy them 10 at a time at the dollar store for $1, but the last time I bought, they were up to $1.50. I bought 1 pair a of prescription glasses, lost them and thought, they will show up, it's been a year, I not hopeful any longer.

I wear glasses for reading and another set for driving. keep pairs of them everywhere. A neighbor kid told me "you know, Benjamin Franklin invented Bi-Focals a couple hundred years ago...."

Very humbling. I still keep a pair of each everywhere.

Have a watch on my wrist 23.5 hours of the day, it charges while I’m showering. If I can’t find my phone the watch can make it sound.

I have even AirTags on my keys these days.

Glasses - I’m pretty good at keeping them in one spot. I have a spot for my readers too (needed when I’m wearing contacts).

Yeah, before you sit anyplace, be sure to run your hand over the seat.

Last year, I had my eye doctor write me a prescription for reading glasses because my left eye was considerably weaker than my right eye, making even high-mag reading glasses somewhat ineffective for the weaker eye.

While I don't misplace those special reading glasses, what I often misplace is the cloth eyeglass holder I use when I go out somewhere. I often have to scramble around trying to find it. But a few days ago, I simply lost it (until it reappears in a few weeks or months). Thankfully, my ladyfriend has an extra cloth eyeglass holder so I am saved. Those larger, hard-cover holders are just too bulky to carry around in my pocket.

At least I figured out a way to not misplace my distance glasses. I use them only when I drive, so I just leave them in my car. But a few times, I have forgotten to remove them before leaving the car so when I am back in the apartment, I have to remember to take them with me the next time I use the car - and I have no glass case to keep them secure in the meantime.

Interesting. I rarely lose things, but it's not because I have a great memory (I don't). It's because I am a terribly repetitive person. I habitually put things in very specific places, so I always know where they are. On the odd occasion that I do lose something, my life is upended until I find it!

Glad you found your glasses.

My story exactly. I even keep an EXTRA pair in the car in case I wear my drivers pair back to the apartment.

Your glasses incident is very familiar to me.

There have been studies of aging peeps concerning peripheral vision, as well as detecting objects in a crowded field of view.

You're ageing, in a nutshell. The eye changes. So your two most-important sensors are degrading.

I am now purposely going slower in my recon throughout the house.

I can't seem to find anything in the fridge, so DW comes over and shows me what I'm looking for - right there in front of me. Not sure what that portends for the future, but it doesn't sound good.
