My final EE savings bond which I bought many many years ago from megacorp matured. Guess that makes me officially old.

When I bought that through payroll deduction the time the bond matures felt like an eternity. Well, eternity is here :(.

I've still ot a $1000 paper I-bond in the safe from 15+ years ago. I would cash it in but the dang thing is paying over 8%.

Yeah. I still have about 30 old EE bonds, bought through payroll deduction, sitting in the safe deposit box. I am now to the point I just wait until it hits the "face value guarantee" (17 years?), then cash them in. I know I could convert them to electronic, but face value is only $6000.

FWIW, I originally bought them years ago as part of our son's college fund (no taxes if used for tuition). These are just the ones I got that we did not use.
