Looking for recommendations for Nespresso pods. Any recommendations for a dark roast coffee that is not bitter and comes in Nespresso pod form?

I currently am using Peet's Ristretto pods that I really like, but the prices just went up quite a bit so I'm thinking of trying something new. I really like dark roast, but not bitter coffee flavors. (I used to drink Peet's Major Dickenson's before getting my Breville machine.)

TIA!

I used to buy Peet’s pods, but switched to L’or due to cost. I usually can get the L’or pods for around $0.50/pod.

If you have a Costco membership, then you can buy a selection of Peet’s pods online. It’s $45 for 80 pods, $0.56/pod.

I used to buy those, but have switched to decaf. Costco doesn’t sell decaf pods, so I buy them on Amazon.

Before we stopped drinking coffee, we saved money by buying the kind of coffee we liked in bulk and using a refillable pod. That w*rked well and saved a significant amount of money. Pods are expensive based on their disposable nature and large bulk and weight for shipping compared to equivalent packages of ground coffee. If cost is an issue, the reusable pod might be an answer.

I no longer live near a Costco so let my membership expire. But I haven't heard about L'or before. The price is right. I'm going to order a few boxes and try it out. Thanks!

As it happens, I recently got a CitiZ machine and have been trying different decaf pods (including L'Or), hoping to find a favorite. For me, the biggest challenge has been finding a coffee with a flavor strong enough to cut through milk, since I drink two-shot cappuccinos. Are you drinking your espressos straight or with milk?

I actually make latte's with almond milk, but use a quarter of the amount of milk suggested. I just got a package from L'or, I need to go through the rest of my Peet's soon as I noticed they're expiring soon. I'm really hoping I like the L'or. If you find a brand that you find you like and is reasonably priced, please post. Thanks

After trying L'Or, Bestpresso, La Llave, Daniel's, Lavazza and Illy (all decaf), I've decided I like L'Or the best. It's very smooth and has a distinctively brighter taste. L'Or holds up in milk better than any other except Bestpresso. The latter is odd; the straight espresso is a bit off-putting, but it tastes fine with milk.

My husband drinks Nespresso (Vertuo) and if you don't want bitter, try Melozio. I like it. It's is a bit too mild for my husband. He also likes Rich Chocolate.

I drink Starbucks Decaf pods with my Nespresso Pixie machine and milk frother.
I tried Nespresso decaf pods and off-brand decaf pods, but I only like Starbucks decaf pods. I make lattes (I don't like very bitter coffee.). When I was avoiding cow's milk, I tried different plant-based milk (soy, almond, coconut, oats) but all tasted kind of icky, except for oat milk by Elmhurst.

I’ve been wanting to try the Illy decaf pods, but they’re always too expensive.

L’or packaging looks a lot like Peets, which made me wonder if they’re rebranded? Probably not? Luckily, I like the L’or pods so no need to find a replacement.

Even though I enjoy the Nespresso Ristretto decaf. I rarely buy them though, since they are pricier.

I love Illy's canned pre-ground coffee, but their decaf pods produce watery coffee with a weak, not-so-great taste. So you're not missing anything.

For those that have a Costco membership, the 80-count Peet’s Nespresso Pods are on sale at costco.com for $38. That’s $0.475/pod, which is a great deal.

You can also get the Peet's pods from Peets.com itself, where they often have 15 or 20% off sales.

But I think you can get a variety pack on Amazon for about the same price as when Peets have sales.

Also you can get recycle bags from Peets but if you don't order coffee from them at the same time, they charge you a couple of bucks for the recycle bags, which have prepaid shipping.

You can get all kinds of 3rd-party Nespresso-compatible pods on Amazon or in many stores. However, only Nespresso and Peets offer a recycling program of any kind so I just stay with Peets.

I stopped buying Nespresso because of Nestle's practices.

Nespresso machine is very convenient for getting good espresso shots right away.

Speaking of Peets, I went to a Peets cafe last month and a small cappuccino with oat milk and 15% tip came out to $6.50.

So yeah, I'm going to keep making my own coffee at home, either Nespresso or Aero Press with Lavazza coffee that I grind, with frothed oat milk (Chobani Zero sugar).

I can afford to pay $5 or more for coffee but it feels like you're being taken, especially if you've been to cafes in Europe which are now like half the price for better quality.

But it's a time sink, either to walk or drive to a cafe. I suppose I can take my laptop and be posting from a cafe for a couple of hours but prefer to be home.

If Peet's had Big Bang decaf pods, I'd be all over them, but they only have dark roast decaf pods.

I used AeroPress some years ago. Their new premium model (glass instead of plastic) is attractive.

If you are talking about Nespresso Original machine coffee "capsules", I've tried a dozen. I've settled on two from Amazon that I always keep a supply of. If you add them to an Amazon list and watch once a week you can get 60 for $16-$18 and have never paid more than that for them. No problem for me with them functioning in a Nespresso Inissia Espresso Machine going on 5 years old.

Both are of the higher intensity. I've adjusted the machine for about a 1 1/2 oz serving.
