Never Count On An Inheritance

My father and mother were career military enlisted and career cashier. My in-laws were career military officer and teacher/realtor who always lived way beyond their means.
My wife and I are not expecting any inheritance.
(Now my daughter, that's a different story).

Sorry about your relative's health issue.

We too have been told we'll inherit something...but we don't include it in our NW or planned spending. If it comes, it will be an extra blessing.
