I've monitored & scoured this forum for years. Not sure if retiring at 63 1/2 years old qualifies as "early". DW retired 2 years later in 2018 (she was 62). We've both pulled SS at EPRD (earliest possible retirement date) and draw small pensions. Thus, cruising along even-steven. Located in the upper midwest. This is a great site with great people and a terrific resource. THANK YOU!

Like Mystang52, this site helped planning for my retirement (18 yrs ago!) but the non financial aspects keep me here. Great site, thanks for formally checking in.
Former midwesterner, don't do winter anymore.

Welcome to the Forum, look forward to hearing more from you.
We retired at 60, I think anything before 65 and medicare qualifies, lol!

Welcome. We hope you will post often.

We've never set an age around Early Retirement. Perhaps the traditional age 65 for retirement could be invoked but "early" is a state of mind in my humble opinion.

We're glad you chose to join us.

IMO, anything before your SS FRA qualifies as early.

(Not that my opinion on this really matters. :ROFLMAO: ) Congratulations on your retirement and welcome!

I'm glad you uncloaked, Gark. Now it's your turn to help our younger members on their early retirement journeys. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you. After all, that's how humans gain knowledge - one generation teaches the next.

All ages are welcome. Glad to have you aboard!

Welcome!

I know my retirement at 49 would definitely be considered early. But having been fully retired for 27 years starting at that age, I can't imagine ever having to work even into my 50's,

Some of us had to claw our way up from further down in the muck, so it took a little longer. But whenever you get here, life is good.

Impressive!

I was Financially Independent at 51 but had started loving my j*b (who knew?). I stayed to 58. No regrets. Life's funny that way.

You Qualify! Welcome! This site has helped me with retirement and non-retirement issues. There are a lot of people here smarter than me. Life has taught me to seek people smarter than myself and listen to them :)
