With training camps underway it seems like it’s also time to initiate this year’s NFL thread. Let the trash talk, humble brags, and gnashing of teeth begin!

I am so ready. My NY Giants open up camp tommorow. My hope is Daniel jones plays more like 2022 than 2023, Malik namers is what I think he is, oline at least not Swiss cheese. Loving Dline with Sexy Dexter, Brian burns and Thibs. Hopefully competing for a WC spot.

I'll probably watch most of the Cowboys games and maybe even a few of the Texan games this season but I've lost interest for the most part and probably won't be placing any bets on the games anymore.. (Except maybe the SB)

Here I was just getting used to NOT hearing about the last Superbowl. YMMV

I wonder how long it will be before F.I.R.E. User comes along and posts that the 49ers are a lock to win the Super Bowl. You would think after two consecutive years of such claims and no Super Bowl wins that he would know better, but we'll see.

I have a dilemma. I grew up and lived in New England most of my adult life and now spend summers in New England so the Patriots are my AFC team, even though it has been hard times since Brady left the Patriots. Until recently, I spent winters in Sarasota, Florida so the Buccaneers became my NFC team.

I recently moved to Texas but the very idea of rooting for the Cowboys makes me want to puke. The Texans may be a possibility as I lke JJ Stroud.

Just saw the first ad for preseason games. I know I’ll be sick of the hype soon enough but At least it wasn’t another political ad.

You need to go see a Cowboys game in Arlington in person. Once you see their cheerleaders preform in person, you will be a fan for life!

I hope they surprise me but I fully expect the Texans to chalk up the first loss in the 2024 NFL season, even if it's a game that really doesn't count.

Vikings don't have a QB, so here's to hoping for a Minneapolis Miracle, lol. I have season tickets to the Twins so I am still enjoying baseball season.

Apparently preseason tix are going for $6, a stark contrast to the $300+ they go for on gameday.

I think it was around this time last year when we saw the first Super Bowl ad. I think it’s in NO this year.

49er fan. Father was a season ticket holder since the early 50s. I attended 49ers games at Kezar Stadium in my mother's womb back in 1956. Fully enjoyed the Walsh/Montana Team of the 80s and feel very satisfied for that. The last few decades have been challenging and disappointing but I never lost faith. Five Lombardi trophies is more than enough for me but I understand the younger fan generation feeling so frustrated. Grew up with quite a few 49ers as neighbors and some of their children were my classmates and schoolmates.

Nephew works for the Patriots.

They apparently repealed the law that said that the Pats had to win the Super Bowl 80% of the time. Sigh....

They did not disappoint. Guess they'll blame this loss on the bad weather. :) The worse part was listening to Joe Buck yapping more than usual when the bad weather moved in.

Lambeau Field is sold out tonight at $10/ticket to watch the Packers practice with each other. It will also be televised state-wide. For many locals, it's the only way to see the Packers play in person at Lambeau. Season ticket holders renew at a 99% rate, and the waiting list is over 140,000.

Do they gouge people because of the demand? Detroit lions season ticket prices have gone crazy over the last few years because they are finally decent (and the Hard Knocks episodes). I didn't realize the pricing was so supply/demand driven

Edit: for 2024, "The average increase is 36 percent ... Some fans claim increases as high as 85 percent"

Packer tickets are just below the NFL average. What is annoying is that season ticket holders are required to buy the pre-season package also. As the only community-owned NFL team, I think there is an effort to keep games affordable. Wisconsin is LCOL, and Green Bay is a blue collar town.

When I lived and worked in Green Bay, I received tickets as a work perk and for entertaining clients. I enjoyed the games, but the team wasn't as good back then.

A former pastor of ours had a son who lived in Wisconsin. Back around 2010, I think, when he wanted to "get in line" for Packers season tickets, I think he was told the expected wait time was.... until around 2027.

I wonder if the line moved faster than expected and if he has them yet.

Hmmm, that seems quick to get them. Here's my Packer season ticket story.

I put my name on the list in the mid 1980's. I don't remember our exact position in line, but I think it was around 30,000. Every year we'd get a card in the mail and we'd usually move up around a hundred.

I didn't expect to get them in my lifetime, but two things happened: First, the Packers stopped playing in Milwaukee. (They used to play a preseason and two regular games in MKE). And the MKE season ticket holders could continue to get those games in GB. Since Lambeau Field was much bigger than old County Stadium, those waiting were offered the previous MKE "Gold Package".

Many took that offer and my position in the queue moved to around 15,000. Years went by and I'd move up 100 per year or so. In 2014, they built the 'South End Zone', which added a bunch of seats. Between the folks that took the 'Green Package', 'Gold Package' and were no longer interested/alive, my turn came.

So, I get two or three games per year, which I'm thrilled for.

I've heard that people who went on the list in the early 90's are starting to get their tickets.

I think I'm with you on this one, if they can get their wide receiver and left tackle situations worked out.
