NFL 2024

What a disappointment. As a Lions fan disappointment is not unknown but wow, what a melt down. Even more amazing is that three teams from the NFC north get into the playoffs, with two teams having the best records in the division, and none of those three teams made it past their first game.
Having a bye week as #1 seed could be a curse. The question of rust and overconfidence is often a factor for top seed.

The thing is these great regular season teams that lost out. Just because they got this far this doesn't mean they will be back next year in this position.
No due overs one shot and may take years to get this close again. Kind of a depressing thought.

This is especially true with Detroit since they may lose their Offensive and Defensive coordinators.

It just goes to show you, any team can surprise you at this point.

Watched the Texan game and it seemed like they were choreographed , acting . Something about the NFL it just isn’t fun anymore. NCAA is just who has the most money . Ohio State will win by 20 Monday night.

IMO, It's the rules.... Just too many dang rule changes/additions. Getting hard to keep track. As with most things :), I'm sure the rule makers think they are doing the best thing, but often have unintended consequences. In football the roughing the passer/kicker rules have absolutely ruined the game. PI is a close second.

Take the Texan/Chiefs game yesterday, the roughing the passer call early in the game absolutely changed the outcome of the entire game. It gave KC a new set of downs and clearly should not have. IMO, and even the opinion of the announcers, it was a very bad call. There's just too much judgement/variance between games and referees on many of these calls. Clearly, the ref's were one sided against the Texans in yesterdays game, "for some reason". (Sour grapes?, maybe?) You know, it's easy to make bad calls against the visiting team and not be booed or put under the microscope.

It was a good game, but a few bad/questionable calls changed the outcome.

I had to attend a social commitment around the end of the 1st quarter, when Detroit was up 7-3.

I could not get back to the game until halftime, and was shocked at the score. 31-21 Commanders?? Holy cow.

I watched the 2nd half waiting for the Lions to wake up, but they just could not stop the Commanders, and continued making mistakes.

I thought Jayden Daniels would "eventually" be decent with the Commanders in s "rebuild" year... he has far surpassed any expectations and they have rebuilt themselves right into the NFC Championship game, where they will match up well with either the Eagles or the Rams.

I made it home from the hospital in time for the Saturday games. Slept through 3/4's of the Lions game. I expected that Commies could rise to the moment.

Today it's snow in Philly, and more NFC East gridiron. I'll be watching with a family heirloom nearby.

Going in , you knew the Texans would not get a break against the Chiefs . I am a Browns fan and have checked out . But four years ago Baker threw a pass , Higgins was blasted to the head at the goal line fumbled the ball into the end zone . A dirty , dirty play. No call . The Browns lost by 4 . There is a bunch of Browns fans that document the cheating by the refs for KC . Yesterday they had eight penalties. …On a field goal is was so bad offsides no call . These guys say the NFL must keep Taylor Swift in front of the media . …Maybe Houston should get Beyonce.

Rules for RTP and PI definitely need to be modified. While I think the Chiefs would have won anyway the two RTP calls were definitely way too soft. I’m glad the flop out of bounds was ignored. That said, the two missed field goals and missed PA along with 8 sacks made an even bigger difference imo.

The Texans need to find a better offensive line for next year. Maybe then, the QB won't be stacked around 60 times during the season.

Eagles and Manders to the NFC Championship.

Unbelievable, I won a 4 game parlay bet. Picked all four winners this weekend. Should have bet a lot more.... :) More than made up for the money I lost on the Texans/KC game.

Woohoo.. Bills look good. I heard the Ravens were favored slightly in Buffalo. Wild. KC will have their work cut out for them next weekend.

Ravens made too many mistakes throughout the game. The dropped 2 point conversion was the backbreaker.

There is now a chance for a rematch of the 1992 Super Bowl.
