NFL 2024

Just want to say thanks to the refs again. If not for your help in such a close game, I'm not sure we could have pulled it off again this weekend.

Kincaid was so close to catching that final pass from Allen.
It was interesting to see how often Tony Romo and the network's rules analyst disagreed with the call on the field. Even the ones that were challenged.

I guess they know who the referees will be for the big game. Almost a tossup with KC just a 1.5 favorite.

I will say, while the refs clearly favored KC last night against the Bills, they weren't as blatantly obvious as they were against the Texans last week.

I played football in high school. I recall coming home on the bus from an away game that we lost on a close call. After hearing us players piss and moan about it for a few minutes, the head coach stood up in the aisle and said "If you guys had played well, you would have been so far ahead that one referee's call wouldn't have made a difference. You did not play well."

The refs call that said the KC receiver got possession instead of a Bills interception, I think was even a bigger blown call than the first down or not. I saw a video showing the Chiefs receiver only having one hand on the ball, while the Bills receiver had both and looked like the only reason ball wasn't moving was because the Bills player had the ball in control as they were landing to the ground. Should have been either interception or incomplete when ball touched the ground.

Other than the refs, that was a great game that lived up to the hype.

This is what we're feeling all over the Delaware Valley.

Eagles fans read "Inner Excellence" at the top of poles and broke out the "Electric Slide" in live traffic

Throughout the day we rewatched the Championship game as well as LA Rams. Many good moments. Nice to have this reward.

I haven't seen it mentioned in any stories. Did they say how many people were in the crowd?
I couldn't find anything about crowd estimates.

My guess is that throughout the city, at major intersections, you'd find at least 250,000 minimum. It was Sunday night, so people would be leaving their homes in droves and walking to the main roads and intersections.

So, by your take, when the baserunner in baseball only has one foot on the base and the first baseman has two and possesses the ball, and both occur simultaneously, the runner is out?

This was in no way a "blown call". If you read the NFL rules, when both a defender and a receiver are touching a football, no matter how many hands are touching the ball, and the play is blown dead, the receiver is awarded possession of the ball. Under no circumstances did the refs have the opportunity to call that an interception, their only choices were incomplete or completed pass. I wish they had called it incomplete. The Chiefs would have gotten the ball at the 22 yard line (thanks to the declined Defensive Holding penalty that was called on the play) and could have consumed most of the 2:43 left in the first half scoring a TD, rather than scoring that TD while leaving enough time for the Bills to score their own TD at the end of the half.

It depends on how the umpire calls the play. Contrary to popular opinion there is no "tie goes to the runner" rule in baseball.

Also, no feet need be touching first base by the first baseman, For example, the first baseman can be in possession of the ball in his gloved hand and touch the base with his other hand and the runner could be called out.

I know that, which is why I did not bring up "tie goes to the runner". On the other hand, there IS such a rule in the NFL.

I’m done arguing with people but Controversy sells I guess, gotta keep those clicks coming.

That was a thumpen... And won me $700

Nice team representing Philly. Very humble players.

Well, *that* was unexpected - I am not surprised that the Eagles won, but the total domination was a surprise. That many sacks and pressures without blitzing - wow.

I heard the half time show was the worst ever (I didn't watch). I guess that fits with the game.

I thought the Chiefs would show some life coming out of halftime.

But after that short drive and punt, and the Eagles doing a long drive to score a FG, I knew it was over.

I saw that it was 40-6 with a couple minutes left, so there must have been some garbage time scores.
