There he is! Best of luck F.I.R.E. User. I’m still taking the Chiefs.

…and the Bills still have to get past them. Have a good season!

I wonder how long it will be before F.I.R.E. User comes along and posts that the 49ers are a lock to win the Super Bowl. You would think after two consecutive years of such claims and no Super Bowl wins that he would know better, but we'll see. ...
Picking the 49ers win the SB.
Well, that didn't take long, but at least you were smarter about it this year by being less assertive and less obnoxious about it.

The 49ers have a good team and will likely be in the hunt, but to predicting anyone to win the Super Bowl at this juncture is foolishness. All it takes are season ending injuries to a couple key players.

Besides, I think the Chiefs are really keen to pull off a historic three-peat and that might dash your dreams.

'Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy to miss season after surgery':

"Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy underwent surgery for a full repair of his meniscus Wednesday and will miss the 2024 season, coach Kevin O'Connell said....
...
O'Connell said he expects McCarthy, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, to make a full recovery. Sam Darnold is in line to be the regular-season starter, with Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall as other quarterbacks on the roster...."

The Vikes are done before it began.
*sigh*

The Vikes weren't going anywhere regardless, but it's a shame McCarthy couldn't get some rookie reps in.

The Chiefs will three-peat. Why? Because I don't want them to. They're like the new Pats, so sick of them...but at least they didn't cheat to win titles.

There are some interesting story lines (assuming no major injury derailments). How much noise will the Bears make with the rookie QB and a major influx of offensive talent? Can the Lions take the next step? Can GB? Will the 49ers once again be cursed? Can Burrow stay healthy and put the Bengals back in the SB? What about the Fins? Can the Texans avoid the "sophomore jinx" and prove they're for real? Can the Eagles make fans forget their baffling collapse last year or is Hurts another in a long line of good/not great QBs who can't take the next step into greatness? Speaking of good/not great, what about the Cowboys? Is Richardson legit star material and if so, can the Colts take the next step? They just missed the playoffs with Minshew.

The most overrated team is once again the Bills, and Allen the most overrated QB. Bank on it, they will again disappoint and have the "fan boys" scratching their heads.

I know it’s Detroit’s backups and bubble players but dang, I’m looking forward to this season.

Not a Chiefs fan but I thought that behind the back forward pass from Mahomes was pretty cool. Certainly different.

Bo Nix is supposedly looking great for the Broncos. It will be interesting to see how he, Williams, and Maye perform this year. I think Maye is in the worst spot, with precious little in the way of weapons around him.

Nix did look good. As a caveat, he was playing against the Packers’ second and third string. Green Bay didn’t play offensive or defensive starters. I wish they did.

Final cuts being made now; one that stuck out to me was WR Robinson with the Giants, former Penn State star and 1400 yd production with the Jags...injury issues? I have a hard time believing he didn't earn even a backup roster spot on the WR depleted Giants.

Allen Robinson is "old" by WR standards, and his last 3 seasons have not been very productive with the Bears, Rams and Steelers. He has also had foot injuries that may have slowed him down.

The Giants are putting a lot of hope in Nabors being so good that, at the very least, it opens upo opportunities for Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton to shine. IMHO though, their limit will be what Daniel Jones can do, and without a Barkley-type threat in the backfield it will be challenging - and I say this as a Giants fan.

Probably a Saquon Barkley or Bust year for the Iggles.

Cowboys maybe. Browns? No way. Even if by a miracle Watson returns to form, it's the Browns.

Side note: where do they get the "writers" for nfl.com? Forrest Gump A&M? If I had a nickel for every glaring grammatical error I've seen in their articles, I could retire.
