NFL 2024

Ayuk signs with the 49ers, surprise. IMO he's not worth the money, he's not all that, but I guess the 49er figure let's go all in because in a few years our SB window may be over.

The regular season starts this Thursday.

Nice to see the Texans are so highly thought of before the first game. They do have a good team this year.

The Bills and Jets are quite overrated. Either will be lucky to sneak in as a wild card and I wouldn't be surprised if both had losing records.

IMO the ultimate SB is Browns vs Lions. SOMEONE had to win.

Not sure I'd read to much in the power rankings until they play at least one regular season game with all the starters.

I wouldn't read too much in in then either. And there are always surprises during the year. But on the whole it looks in the ballpark to me...

They are getting some benefit of being in a division where the Patriots are no longer the powerhouse.

For the Jets its the Aaron Rodgers factor than people are counted on (or blinded by, take your pick). They do have a good defense, and 2 young playmakers on offense with Hall and Wilson. Playing without NFL caliber quarterbacking last year they finished 7-10. Perhaps 4-5 of those losses they could have won with a decent QB.

The Bills have Josh Allen, but with new receivers that will be interesting. I think Miami is the best team in the AFC East, as long as they do not have to play in the cold :).

I thought Atlanta could be higher, at least higher than Chicago to start. Cousins has some good offensive weapons that were not used very well last year. I do not buy completely into the Caleb Williams hype just yet.

The funny thing is, at the end of the '22 season when Lovie Smith went for the win against the Colts and gave the first overall pick to the Bears, almost all Texans fans were mad, figuring that was a final "middle finger" that Smith was giving ownership out the door -- that he did it to spite McNair for the obvious firing which was coming.

Who knew it would have turned out so well? I don't know anyone who would have rather had Bryce Young than Stroud at this point, and then trading up for Anderson? They set themselves up to be a contender for years to come under Coach Ryans if they don't screw it up and injuries don't derail what they have built

Well of course people would rather have Stroud now, but the majority agreed on Young as the #1 pick before the draft, although it was close and there was a lot of debate. Anderson looks great, but I still question if he was worth what they gave up.

Got some burnt ends just about done, beers in the fridge, and football on the tube. Looks like a fun night.

Good luck everybody. I hope you’re going to need it.

It will be interesting to see if Jordan Love continues to play like he did in the second half of last year.

Regardless, I'm glad that Aaron Rogers is now some other team's problem.
Rodgers has the highest QB rating of any QB ever to play the game so that's not a bad problem to have. He is likely past his prime especially with his bad injury last year and for the Packers sake I hope Rodgers doesn't do as well as Love.

Lambeau Field is sold out tonight at $10/ticket to watch the Packers practice with each other. It will also be televised state-wide. For many locals, it's the only way to see the Packers play in person at Lambeau. Season ticket holders renew at a 99% rate, and the waiting list is over 140,000.
My Brother won a pair of tickets at the casino last week so i'll be at the Home opener. Only the second time ever going in my 45 years of living within 50 miles of the stadium. The other time was when my Mom won a pair of tickets at the casino and gave them to my Brother and I.

Mixed results in the first half, but Chiefs IMO clearly the better team and will walk away with the win.

I just wish they'd show Taylor Swift more, no really!

Doesn't seem that clear to me. These two teams will likely be in the AFC Championship game and which ever one has home field will be the favorite. They are closely matched IMO.

She sure looks a lot better than Travis Kelce. (Or any others on the field for that matter, including the KC cheerleaders.)

So far, it sure looks like KC is the better team in this game.

You can't be serious. KC looks far better. Jackson looks like trash (but in fairness is getting rushed a lot).

Game over. Credit to the Ravens for hanging in there, but clearly KC was the better team.

Great game. Ravens come within half an inch of beating the Superbowl champions on the road. Great job by both QBs with Lamar getting almost 400 yards total. Very close game that could have gone either way. Looking forward to seeing this match up again in the playoffs.

Great game. I thought KC dominated but the Ravens came back to make it a toe-to-toe battle (pun intended).

These are 2 good teams. Xavier Worthy is proving to be a worthy addition to the Chiefs, and Isaiah Likely will likely no longer be Mark Andrews backup, but an regular part of their offense.

I agree. Good game. KC looked stronger but the Ravens were very scrappy.

I wish that the last second touchdown had been good as Harbaugh was signaling for them to go for two for the win, whcih would have been very entertaining.

Lively needs to change to white cleats.

If the Ravens hadn’t missed the back of the end zone by that little bit I think Lamar would have run it in for two. If these guys are clicking this well for the first game of the season it’s going to be a wild ride.

That ending is why I love watching football. As an aside, I'm proud of myself for not nodding off after 10 PM. That just-missed touchdown was a thrill.
