Thank you but I'll stay here in Texas. Besides, it's cold enough for me right here without moving to Sweden. 29f this morning and heavy frost on the ground.

Wow, that house is definitely unique! Kind of spooky, too. If it was mine, I'd sure allow a budget for redecorating.... :D

I like it except for those rooms with black ceilings and would prefer a more wooded location.

The only major renovation that I'd have to do, is to get rid of the "JAWS" posters in the bedroom. Other than that, I think it's near perfect! Oh, and forget about a home alarm system, just set that predator statue in the entry way, and don't bother locking the door. :D

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread too much, but I thought this USA Today article was interesting:

Your dream retirement home takes planning

After discussing the advantages of single story homes and other attributes of suitable homes for the elderly, it discusses communities suitable for retirement living. I thought they hit the nail on the head:
Here are seven attributes communities need to be attractive to older adults, according to a MetLife Mature Market Institute study done with the Stanford Center on Longevity. The report was published March 5.
• Housing. Affordable housing with zoning laws that permit flexible housing arrangements (assisted living facilities or houses on small lots).
• Transportation. Mass transit, senior transportation programs, walkable neighborhoods, nearby parks and recreation.
• Safe neighborhoods. Low crime rates, emergency preparedness plans.
• Health care. An adequate number of doctors who take Medicare, specialists, hospitals and preventive health care programs.
• Supportive services. Meals on wheels, adult day care, home care giving support.
• Goods, amenities. Retail outlets within walking distance, restaurants, grocery stores with healthy foods, farmers markets.
• Social integration. Places of worship, libraries, museums, colleges, and organizations that promote intergenerational contact.

I like it except for those rooms with black ceilings and would prefer a more wooded location.

The black ceilings are okay but yes on the wooded location and also a cemetery next door. Then the neighbors won't complain when someone screams.

I wonder who the seller is and if she has a dragon tattoo. It actually is a very nice house

I'm curious to know who the owner is, also. I suspect he/she had something to do with the making of Jaws and jaws-2. The music room upstairs with a drum set and speakers set up makes me believe it belongs to a musician?

IMO, it's an incredible house. The most gorgeous bathroom I've ever seen. I'd take it as is, no problem! The lighting throughout the house is fabulous!

That attic room was weird.... It was like a lounge - had the external entrance.... So the party room:confused: Finished to a very high end - but not my taste.

A lot of money spent on the decor... but not to my taste.

The juxtoposition of the greek statuary in front, and the predator statuary/masks inside kind of cracks me up.

Looks like you're the only one paying attention. :) Doesn't work when I say that word. That's W2R's realm.

I don't know if that still works for me, either. But either way, I'm not saying a word until after the first of the year when I do my rebalancing. So don't hold your breath! :2funny:

I think it is awesome! How much?
