As most retired folks here, I have no earned income. I broke down my sources of passive income for 2026 and its percent of my annual total income. I do not include the temperamental capital gains influx nor maturing bonds. What's yours:
41% Equity dividends (corrected)
28% Individual bonds - interest/coupons (corrected)
26% Social Security
3% Fracking Royalties
2% Bank interest, MM, etc.

Interesting. Here's mine:
69% Equity/Div
18% Social Security
13% W2 P/T Job

I defined Income as going in to my account for "spending" of some sort, but in this case includes some Roth contributions.

Flieger

82% Dividends across multiple sectors, bondish CEF's, REIT's, equities, etc.
9% Cash Value Life Insurance
5% Private real estate funds
2% DW's SS
2% Bank interest, MM

I have not started my SS yet.

Top 4 are all interest and dividends. I don't allow capital gains. IRA is income inside the IRA; same with Roth.

1. Social Security x2
2. Pension
3. Dividends
4. Interest

The stacking order is accurate. #1 & 2 cover all regular expenses, and then some. The income from #3 is not all realized.

39% Rental income
60% Dividends
1% Interest

Both my wife & I retired at 57 so no SS income for ~5 years, if we decide to take it early.

2025
DW W2- 34%
My pension- 26%
My SS- 23%
Roth Conversion- 16%

2026 projection
My pension-27%
My SS- 25%
DW Pension- 23%
Roth Conversion 25%

Ours is:
1. Social Security x2
2. Dividends x2
3. Pension x1
4. Interest

#1, 2 & 3 cover all expenses, with Dividends in my Roth being dripped when received.

Have withdrawn 0% from investments, but next year will be the start of RMDs.

Social Security - 30%

Here is our breakdown:
33% SS for both of us
14% Fixed income annuity (qualified)
10% Dividends from taxable account
8% Dividends from IRA
7% Interests from MYGA in IRA
20% Additional IRA withdrawal to meet RMD and spending
8% Non-income but as direct transfer to offspring for gifting

Inherited IRA. 8%

In our case, our taxable accounts are about the same size as IRA and we are trying to whittle down the IRA but it keeps growing, and hence we are not selling positions in our taxable accounts. I figure my son will get a step-up in cost basis on the taxable account when I pass.

Pensions: 68.65%
SS: 31.35%

Dividend/interest income in brokerage accounts is either re-invested in shares, new muni bonds or CDs or moved to a cash account used to fund our DAF or targeted for specific reasons...remodeling projects, etc. RMD's are donated via QCDs. Interest from our retail bank accounts amounts to way, way, way less than 1%.
