Pay off house?

I paid my house off. I heard many points of view on the subject. For me, I wanted to be debt free, lower & simplify my monthly costs, and be able to save a bit each month. My ‘income’ was just about at my ‘outgo’ and I missed saving(weird perhaps). Paying off my house worked best in my case.
