Congrats and nice progress! Unsure if you officially exceeded your retirement line in the sand or if that goal is shifting but a friendly reminder that time is finite, life is unpredictable and we are all mortals. Just learned that my cousin who retired two years before me at 50 (now 54) was just diagnosed out of the blue with cancer and is excepted to be 'ok' in the short term but the long term outlook is cloudy. His dreams and wishes are now compressed into years vs. decades.Q1 2026 update

- Very red quarter for us but surprisingly we managed to stay above $3M investable even before last day market run up.
- Spouse is officially retired !!! I am ramping down projects at work and ramping up vacation time as much as company will tolerate. Will see how that will go in 2026 and I may try to orchestrate my own layoff in 2027.
- Coast FIRE: all payroll contributions to 401k and HSA is set to zero, although HSA still gets small employer's contributions. We still maxed out HSA for 2025 and added some money to Trad+SEP IRAs to get us out of state tax penalty. Did not realize that we are short on withholding till completed our tax return.
- We still plan to make 2025 contribution to Roth IRAs from Taxable in April.
- Kitchen renovation is done and you can see it's impact in our cash position - net negative and will stay negative as we have balance on 0% credit card till January 2027.
- Travel - all ready for 2 week trip to Europe and the end of the May. It was challenging to take so much time off at work as single vacation, will see how it will go without me - hope that all will be smooth and I will continue to push for more vacation time.
