Good, though not luxury, accommodations in a great location (Grand Canyon rim cabin most recently). Especially true in Europe and Japan - though I picked hotel across from train station in Kyoto instead of the Granvia where I have previously stayed. Granvia was business expense and I'm still pretty frugal. We actually loved the place we stayed and included breakfast was better than Granvia cafe, as I recall. Had a great place on Grand Canary overlooking boat clubs and paid for a balcony room on top floor (below restaurant). Loved watching the sailing classes.
Private car with driver for trips that would be time consuming or troublesome on public transportation. Most recently Vitoria to Zaragoza in Spain and Kensington Park area of London to the London cruise port on the Thames River. OTOH on Grand Canary we actually really liked taking local buses, though not for trips as long as the two mentioned above.
I don't fly business class but I do fly with the airline where I have permanent gold status because the club access on international trips is great. Maybe I'll fly business class when I'm a bit older.
We often book private or very small day trips when in Europe. Got private driver for trip to Sintra from Lisbon, etc. Not tour guide per se but knew enough. Had previously done small group, day trips to Fatima, Alanteja, Sintra and a couple other places. Likewise did small groups (up to 8) to Normandy beaches and Mont Ste Michele from Bayeaux. Ditto to game preserve outside Pretoria etc. All of those were great. Anything not to rent a car. I'm toying with going to Bordeau and getting a private guide to take me to caves in Dordogne after I canceled a group tour when DH died.
