Musically, I always loved that song (and the video seems to indicate the guys could really play!)

I just never liked the sentiment of the lyrics. I always have to ignore them. YMMV

RIP Roberta Flack, who died about a month ago. Classically trained vocalist and pianist who spanned the R&B, Jazz, Folk, and Pop genres. A staple of my college DJ days, especially when one wanted to slow the tempo down and chill (or back then, the "quiet storm" format). Just a few of her well-known songs:

This got a bit of a boost when the depilatory cream Nair picked it up for a commercial. The guy on the piano went on to join a band called The Four Seasons.

I don't recall the name of the movie but I recall the "video" from a movie ca '58 or '59. So I would have been about 11.

I recall being aghast that the "video" was lip synched (and I didn't even know that term - I just noticed that the voices didn't match the people very well.). Sad to lose your innocence so young!
