Problems with AAA

I have used the AAA service a few times with no issues of delay or competence.

We have had AAA for years. We had to use it last year and the wait was reasonable.

Years ago we had roadside assistance through our insurance company for one year. The reason we only had it for one year was that we used it too much and were not allowed to renew. Our cars were old and not that great.

One way in which AAA is not as useful as it used to be is Trip Tiks.. Remember going to the AAA office and getting a booklet with a printed map for a trip? Of course, cell phones and Android Auto have replaced that!

Sounds like most people here have had fairly good experiences with AAA. I have checked with my neighbors and most of them say the same--fairly good experiences with AAA. Maybe we were just unlucky yesterday--a cold Friday afternoon (but no snow or rain). But the bottom line is that AAA let us down big time. We have paid premiums to them for years and hardly ever used them. Then the one time we called them they never showed and we had to take care of the battery situation ourselves. I am very disappointed and am looking at alternatives.
