I've been trying to find a deal on a Quicken Premier subscription renewal since late last year without success. It may have been on sale during Black Friday but I was out of the country and didn't see it.

Just saw it on sale at Sam's Club online only for $59.88 free shipping for anyone interested. Sure beats the over $100 price being asked by Quicken online. My personal subscription expires Mar 17 and this one is due to be delivered Mar 18. I can live with that.

If you don't use it or don't want it please don't respond.

Only Premier? We use Deluxe.

Deluxe also appears to be on sale for $43.88 although I wasn't really looking for that version.

Edited to add: Closer look shows Out of Stock on Deluxe. Sorry about that.

Deluxe was on sale recently at Sam’s for around $43 but $8 shipping because it didn’t meet the free shipping amount. However Walmart offered Deluxe for $1 more plus free shipping because it didn’t meet meet the $35 free shipping minimum.

Unfortunately, it looks like the recent Walmart sale is over.

I had to renew my Quicken license recently and found out that all the versions sold at stores, online or brick and mortar, are ONLY for new users and will not work for existing users. You have to renew directly with Quicken, for more $ of course. You used to be able to buy a retail or online version and use the license key to renew but no more. At least that's was my experience and what I found online from folks who had found out the hard way that Quicken rejected the license key in the retail package.

This is not correct. The one year renewal (not for new users) is available from online retailers, you just have to pay attention that it is not for new subscribers only. I have successfully renewed my subscription through buying from these retailers and never directly from Quicken. The only caveat AFAIK is that you can’t enter the key until within 6 months before your renewal date. It’s worked like a charm every time.

@audreyh1: I used to do exactly as you mentioned. However,I had to renew in early March 2026 and couldn't find one that was not for new users only after looking on several retail and online sites. Apparently I didn't look hard enough. After just looking at numerous sites online again, I found one not specifically labeled for new subscribers at Best Buy and Office Depot, so I stand corrected. The Best Buy price for Quicken Deluxe is $75.88 which is only $2 less than the Quicken direct price but Office Depot has Quicken Deluxe on sale for $45.59 through 3/21 and Quicken Premier for $61.19, so anyone whose subscription is due to expire within the next 6 months can get the deal I missed :).

I purchased a Quicken 1 yr renewal from Walmart in Jan and I noticed it was the same lower price again last week, $44.99 free shipping. I usually buy more than 6 months ahead of the renewal deadline watching for the lower prices. From past experience it seems like the best prices are Black Friday, around Xmas to end of December and various times in Jan, Feb, March, April. Then there seems to be a lull. I do get an alert from Slickdeals.net, but it doesn’t catch all of them.

Thanks to audreyh1 from another thread, I purchased Deluxe from Walmart for $44.99 and just yesterday renewed my subscription by entering the key card information.

This handy thread used to track deals.

This one had some more recent deals.
