Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, has passed away at 47.

The band made the announcement over social media on Saturday, the same day of his passing.

The singer announced in May of last year that he was battling Stage 4 Kidney Cancer.

The announcement stated, “With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer.”

Arnold was a founding member, vocalist, and original drummer of 3 Doors Down

I liked quite a few of their songs. I used to travel a lot for w*rk back in the day. Whenever I heard one of their songs come on the radio or on somebody's playlist I used to tell my cow*rkers that I had once stayed in the same hotel as this band. When they asked about it, I would reply "Yep. They were just three doors down." I think I got more groans than smiles on that one.

Anyway, it's too bad when Cancer gets anybody. 47's just too young to go.
