Report software quirks here

Ron, I'm not seeing any problem. Better check your wrapper.

<chuckle>

Here is what I see on the last page in the thread:

Word Wrap - 1.JPG

and this is what I see on the previous page (and FWIW all other threads):

Word Wrap - 2.JPG

NOTE: I am using the Blue format if that is important.

RonBoyd, I use the 'blue' format too (v1.0 pulldown), and ALL the posts look like the first picture (wide text). IIRC, I did that on purpose, I didn't want 1/3 of the screen taken up by that sidebar. Don't remember what the setting was.

It isn't that there is an absense of the right side column or that there is wide text, it is that I have/had to read the Posts using the scroll bar at the bottom of the window because each line carries out past the edge of the window... and only on that single page of that particular thread.

Like, for instance, try and read the first line in this Post:

Word Wrap - 3.JPG

FYI - You can turn off the right hand column on both blue and green styles.

Ron, the issue you are describing sounds like something on the page is pushing the width of the page very wide. This can sometimes happen when an image or other element is wider then the screen's resolution. Can you see anything on the screen that would be pushing this so wide? Was there a certain post which was posted when this started (that you recall)?

It starts on Page 125 -- Post 2481. Page 124 appears normal.

No, I can't see anything that would cause this. But, then again, I don't know what to look for.

I have to run (have a breakfast meeting in 15 minute) but will check back later.

I think I found it - it's the very wide graphics in mickeyd's post #2485, further down on that page. They don't fit on a normal page.

We added a feature which is supposed to re-size any photos to no larger then 600 pixels wide. You should see a yellow bar on top of any images that have been reduces which allows you to click and see the image at full size. If you are not seeing that then it could be an issue with JavaScript and your browser. Try rebooting and see if that clears it up. If not, then you might want to skip page 124 ;).

Yes post #2485 seems to be violating the rule about picture width. How did mickeyd do that? Is the software that bad that it cannot protect us from such posts? Or is it a setting that Ron and I should set?

This may be an issue with Java on your browser. The images are displaying normally for me. Can you check to be sure that you have a recent version of Java and that it is enabled in your browser settings?

You can check here to see if you have it and for config help: http://www.java.com/en/

I have version 6 update 22 installed. I uninstalled older versions of Java. Rebooted my machine. Still no solution. I am using v2.0 green version.

Here are some photos to test new Java handling wide layout:

Ok, I see - I did't notice the scroll bar in the pic the first time.

FWIW - that post you ref'd seems to display OK for me, it wraps around or is limited to the width of my browser window.

There was nothing you could have done, nor the software either.

The problem was that a few of the images were on the same line, not stacked (and touching each other, so they looked like one image instead of the three individual images). So even though the software would have resized one big image, the three were each within the sizes allowed.

I went in and did a moderator edit to put the images each on their own line, and it solved the excessive width problem.

Go ahead and hit the little "report post" icon when this happens again and we can at least fix it manually. Thanks for bringing it up here, too.

I'm getting a "blue box and a quarter" on all quotations; the extra blue area overlaps onto the replies.... some worse than others

It is showing up on all posts; new and old.

Here is a screenshot:
