I'm in my early 80's, retired from the refractories industry and been in NE Ohio for last 45 years. Have been a self-directed investor for over 50 years. Joined the Fido Community group last year and have started up over here this past week. I am an income investor with over 90% of the holdings centered on income. BDCs, Bondish CEFs, Preferreds and individual bonds make up the 90% portion of the portfolio. My race is really over and will now concentrate on how to set up the portfolio for my wife when I am no longer here. Looking forward to interacting with the non-investment portions of E-R group.

Welcome, look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to our wonderful forum.

Welcome, the wide range of topics allowed on this forum is one of the coolest parts, hope you'll participate and share.

Welcome! I still have family in Ohio and spent many, many years visiting my Grandparents and my Aunt and Uncle in Radnor and Copley respectively. Good memories visiting Grandpa's farm. Darn good state IMO.

Welcome also!!! A lot more than finance talk here if that is what I understood like from your post. You get it all right here no matter what the subject is.

Be looking forward to your contributing to the forum.

Hello! I'm also in NE Ohio, outside of Akron.

Lovely weather we're having!

Welcome. I love visiting Ohio. Fellow (former) Midwesterner here.

Please stop by often. We look forward to your participation.

Shridog, welcome. From the title of your post, I got the sense that being in Ohio was a bad thing. Nothing wrong with staying where you’ve lived most of your life. Although many here do relocate to other places (warmer climates) when they retire, I’m one who doesn’t subscribe to that. I’ve lived in NJ my whole life and still live in the same town I graduated from high school in. Our married kids and our grandkids live nearby and we are very involved in their lives. Moving to another place has no appeal to us.
Hope you enjoy your time here and I’m sure you will have lots to contribute as a 22 year retiree (only retired 2 years here).
