Wow!!!
It is really hard to believe it has been ten years. I just looked at a few pictures from an in house lunch they had for me after the board meeting with everyone at the lunch. My son came from out of town and that was the only outside the company person that was there. I told them that I didn't want anything or any extra treatment that day.

I was 58 years old and looking back was one of the best decisions I made in life except when I married my wife. I have done so many things and had time to do the things I love to do full time when I wanted too. I learned to not hurry in life and take full advantage of every second of life.

Money was my biggest concern going into ER even though I knew we could make it on what we had. If someone would have told me I would have what we have today, I would not have believed them. The money part the simplest concern and it was my biggest concern. I found this site some months before I decided to retire and was a huge help of confidence builder.

Anyway it has been a joy and so glad I left my job. I loved what I did and had the energy and drive to have continued 3 to 4 more years but glad I did not stay.

Happy anniversary! I’ll hit 2 years next month and it feels like forever ago. I agree that it was a great decision. Any time someone asks how I’m enjoying retirement, my new tag line is, “Retirement is great. I highly recommend it.” Cheers to the next 10 and beyond.

Congrats Street! It will be 10 years for me in January and I share your "awe" re the money issue. I love not working and could go on and on about why , but this is your thread and your day---well done!!!

Congrats and best wishes for many more years of retired contentment.

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary Street!

Congratulations... I'll be halfway there in January.

Congratulations and happy anniversary. That is great all is going well!! Been enjoying your posts.

I just crossed 2 years this month.

I totally relate to the concerns that you had, as well as the TWO best decisions made :)

Congrats on 10 years! My journey started 10 years ago last January 1st.

Happy 10th!

Awesome, congrats! Any regrets not retiring earlier? I know the last 3 years or so in the market would have been hard to predict, but could you have pulled the pin earlier without those 3 years?
