Retired Ten Years Today

Congrats, Street. Time goes by when you are having fun. Somehow, I thought you have retired for longer than 10 years.

It's coming up on 14 years for me. It's scary how time flies.

Congratulations on your 10 years, mine will be later this year also.
Amazing how quickly time has gone!
Enjoy every minute.

Congratulations on your ten years, Street!!!
I passed my thirteen year mark at the end of March. Time is sure flying by!

Congratulations! We hit our 10-year mark on March 1 this year. I was 53 and spouse was 67, me early he late. :)

Thank you, thank you!!! This my sounds odd but as my working years were adding up one thing I knew. I never wanted to be the oldest person still working where I worked and started my career. That was a motivation that really sealed the deal.

There is still two guys left late 60's both of them still slaving a way. We all started about the same time and worked together all those years. I'm not sure their objective to keep working or if they just can't give up the titles/identity of who they are.
So, thankful I left when I did for so many reason. Thank You all for the great ten years of Friendship.

Congrats! My 19th slipped up on me as it was on March 31st. Oh well….I’ll blow it out next year. 🍺

Congratulations on 10 years. Doesn’t time fly!

Thanks for sharing your milestone with us street! Heartiest congratulations on 10 years! Here's hoping for many, many more.

Congratulations on your 10th! I hit 11 last month when I retired at 58 - going to Europe tomorrow business class for our first Viking river cruise... can't believe we've been so lucky to have much more savings than the target we were glad to hit back then....

Wow!!!
It is really hard to believe it has been ten years. I just looked at a few pictures from an in house lunch they had for me after the board meeting with everyone at the lunch. My son came from out of town and that was the only outside the company person that was there. I told them that I didn't want anything or any extra treatment that day.

I was 58 years old and looking back was one of the best decisions I made in life except when I married my wife. I have done so many things and had time to do the things I love to do full time when I wanted too. I learned to not hurry in life and take full advantage of every second of life.

Money was my biggest concern going into ER even though I knew we could make it on what we had. If someone would have told me I would have what we have today, I would not have believed them. The money part the simplest concern and it was my biggest concern. I found this site some months before I decided to retire and was a huge help of confidence builder.

Anyway it has been a joy and so glad I left my job. I loved what I did and had the energy and drive to have continued 3 to 4 more years but glad I did not stay.
Great post.

I am also in the class of 2016.

No regrets. Happy as can be here on my farm with DW, my garden, library and dog.

Thank You all. Life is great!!!!

Mucho Congrats!

Mine started Pearl Harbor Day, 2009. 16 1/2 years. WOW!
I have a CalPERS pension and my GOAL is to live long enought that when I go, someone from CalPERS is dispatched to the funeral "To make sure that SOB is FINALLY gone! We sure lost money on HIM!!"

Wally, I also retired in late 2009. My goal is similar to yours…I hope to be the oldest living retiree in my pension group. Sadly, I have friends who lived such a short time after retirement or who died before retiring.

Congratulations! Hope you get 10 more (at least,).

Congratulations Street!

I'll hit 5 this summer. Last week I was thinking about the many experiences in these past 5 years that weren't on my BINGO card when pulled the rip cord. Always grateful for the time flexibility from being away from the workplace.

Kind regards,
Chris

Thank You All!!! Been a great 10 years. I'm in the best shape I have been in 20 years and no stress other than making a decision on what I should today.
