My take of the OP’s article is that it leaves out one group of single men. Men who were married, had children, but now find themselves single again, and who aren’t planning to get hitched again. They often have grown children to help care for them (a plus), but no wife or live in partner with a Honey Do list in the event they find themselves with too much time on their hands.
I am not sure how we fit in, but we are part of that group of older, single men. I suppose I could become a Catholic Priest, I know of several guys who did that after their wife passed and the children were raised. That can lead to interesting discussions at the holiday dinner table.
