Returns/refunds? - Do you return stuff? Is there an amount you won't bother with as it is too small?

I try to return anything unused, especially if purchased locally. Even if it costs me more in time and effort than it is really worth I rationalize that this helps me avoid making unnecessary purchases and is the "green" thing to do. A step before the "reduce->reuse->recycle" triangle.

What I have a harder time resolving is what to do with used items that have little value. Like an old lawn sprinkler or fertilizer spreader that I will likely never use again and want to get rid of. It might have some value to someone in town, but I don't want to have a yard sale or try to find someone to come by and pick up for free. So it goes into the trash.

Yes, I return items that are not as advertised, wrong fit (if clothing), arrive broken, etc. if purchased online.
Amazon is easy here, live very close to a WholeFoods, don't even need a box, just the QR code they send.
Costco fairly easy, a 10-15 min drive and try to go early am weekday, less crowded.

If I bought something in a store in person, I often don't, unless it was packaged so securely that I could not visually inspect the entire thing. Or I was dumb enough to not try on an article of clothing in the store and it doesn't fit/feel good/etc.

Things that are reusable, I will donate if I don't return/refund.

For items of "some" value, don't you have charity resale shops? Salvation Army, Goodwill, independent (church or "kidney foundation" etc.) resale shops?

I try to avoid returns and often donate stuff that's new instead of returning. I do return items to stores I frequent often and I also return to Amazon.
