An interesting story to share with your neighbors - but it could have turned out tragically. I guess the home owner had been in that area not too long before it happened. (Time to buy a lotto ticket or maybe he used up all his luck. You be the judge.)

Some media covered the story, showing the impact site and the pieces of rock (confirmed to be "out of this world").

Oh at first I thought it might have been from Elon's rocket....wrong location and time frame.

Yeah, I saw the video of that break up. Very impressive.

But, no, this was a space rock - confirmed. I recall that, many years ago, a space rock struck a house, penetrated into the living space and actually struck and slightly injured an occupant. I wonder how the insurance claim was worded.

Under settings in the video you can slow it down to .25 speed. You can actually see it fall on the right side of the screen at about 4 seconds in on the video. You see it in the blue sky right above the green lawn.

Very cool.

Very cool. I didn't realize YouTube included all those controls.

Slowing down some videos just a little where someone is talking to fast can be helpful. Or you can slow it down a lot and it sounds like they have been drinking..... LOL YMMV

too bad it didn't hit the lawn & remain intact...would be worth some $$$

according to Jordy Verrill.

Someone did collect the fragments which made it possible to identify the "rock" as not of this world (IOW not something tossed out of an aircraft.). Not sure how much value the particles would have except to the scientific community, but at least they have them.
