Rudolph Isley of the Isley Brothers has died at age 84:

He sang backing vocals on both the "classic R&B" Isley Brothers sound of the 50s and 60s ("Shout", "Twist and Shout", "This Old Heart of Mine", "It's Your Thing") as well as the "funk-rock" Isley Brothers sound of the 70s and 80s ("That Lady", "Fight The Power", "Livin' In The Life"). He retired from the group in 1989 to go into ministry. He was inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Isley Brothers in 1992.
