S&P 500 Prediction 2024

oh my god... are you in fear? serious damages last few days. Wonder if it has to do with the current polictics situation.

Another 3% vaporized in just a few days
Can't tell if you're joking or not...if you're serious, I suggest you try to not watch the markets so closely. What happens over a few days is not relevant.

Exactly. The S&P is up 684 YTD which is about 14%. I think that's still almost double my prediction, which I would have been happy with.

Nope. This happens on a regular basis.

You can tell how dramatic something might be when they say "The Dow had the worst day since...." In today's case, it was since 2022, which was only two years ago.

If they say "This hasn't happened in 20 years" or "50 years" or "the Great Depression" or "ever", then it might be a bigger deal.

Just relax. You will still have enough to eat.

Well, there's that pullback I knew would come sometime this summer. Like clockwork. Now, let's see how much further we decline, before we start getting some rate cuts!

what color is blood ?? Time to buy ?

DEEP RED .... Negative (-) 5% ... in no time.

I corrected, so definitely time to plow cash in. I bought in too early...plowed in July 3rd for my birthday...whoops. I'm back to June 9th levels, so I basically bought a month too soon, or a month too late however you want to look at it. But I still have all those shares, and I know darn well 2 steps forwards, one step back is how the graphs all look!

Had to peak in, I like the way its groovin! Speaking of grooving, saw The Steve Miller Band, Journey and Def Leppard last night at an open air Target Field concert DT Minneapolis. Cheer's to more market highs in the near future.

Not Earth, Wind and Fire, but appropriate.

60% through the trading year, but 80% from where I would be in a glidepath, so I am behind my guess by about 20% right now, given current levels. Original guestimate of 5451.
70% through the trading year, and my original guess is of 5451 is off by less than 1%. If we closed today I would be darn tootin' close to winning this again. It's anyone's game now! We've been bouncing brackets and there might not be enough python code in the matrix to determine where this thing will land.

Blew right past the Let’s Groove division today and chasing Sining Star. Wow

I hope for some pull back, some gain and stay steady in the 5600 range. I'd be thrilled with that outcome.

For the end of the 3rd quarter, The S&P 500 (5,762.48) is in the area between the Lets Groove division and the Shining Star division. NervousNellie, at the top of the Lets Groove division, has the current close guess at 5,658.

Due to the size of the area between those two divisions, I henceforth and forthwith declare that area as the Boogie Wonderland gap. To paraphrase the song: "I find romance, with my finance, in Boogie Wonderland..."

New closing highs again - 5815. Still in the Boggie Wonderland gap. Just about dead center - slightly closer to Let’s Groove.

Still hoping for "higher, higher"

Is life too wonderful to be real? Nobody could have predicted that it would reach such heights....but I'm curious about the timing of its collapse. Am I being realistic or pessimistic?

Big step toward the Shining Star division today! Just amazing.

Will we get to 6000 by the end of the year?

Even after today, my high was in mid October. LLY and HD and a couple of other stocks have taken a hit lately pulling me off my highs.
