Seed Oils Will/Will Not Kill You

In the long run, we're all dead. Sugar, seed oil, bacon, meat, pork, alcohol, red dyes, sunshine, sun screen, tap water, and high fructose corn syrup. I don't know how I made it this far.
 
cold-pressed (look for “expeller pressed”) canola oil is widely available for those who want a neutral flavor oil.

at a slight higher cost, of course.

As other people have pointed out what is important is healthspan not just lifespan.
 
Crisco, aka cottonseed oil, started out as a machine lubricant.
Some sources say it started as a replacement for tallow in candles and soaps.

"Not content with using hardened cottonseed oil for soaps, and mindful that electrification was forcing the candle business into decline, P&G looked for other markets for their new product. Since hydrogenated cottonseed oil resembled lard, why not sell it as a food?"
