DW's design practice has used off the shelf Dell and similar servers that get replaced for capacity and functionality reasons about every 5 years. Connected are ~20 workstations running autocad, rhino, and all of the Adobe graphics stuff. It's time for a new one, and the young IT subcontractor person is adamant about building a "room" and getting ac on it, etc. No past server or any other equipment has had a failure attributable to heat, even though summer room temps sometimes get to mid 90's.

I'm thinking any degradation due to heat can't be a factor as the replacement cycle kills any effect. I know portable ac is available, but don't think it is necessary.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks, MildlyEccentric, if Dell is ok with 115 Deg f, it pretty much clears the road to ignore the heat issue in this case.
