I have 3 computers on my home network already sharing each other's Public Download folders with full rights (read/write/delete/create). two are Windows 10 and one is Windows 11 so I'm pretty familiar with setting up sharing within my network. I recently bought a new HP laptop. After setting it up, I found that its sharing function isn't working properly. On the new HP laptop, when I use Windows Explorer and go to Network, I am able to see the other computers except but when clicking on any of them, I get "Windows cannot access \\Name of computer" and Error code 0x80070035. On each of the other computers, I am able to see and access the other 3 computer Public Downloads including the new HP laptop. Public download folder on all computers have full rights to each other except the HP laptop which even though I granted full rights to Everyone. it allows read only.
I even uninstalled all the Windows updates that were made during the initial out of the box startup.
I'm baffled!!!!! Any thoughts. Thanks

I'm not to familiar with sharing folders but is this new HP Windows Home version? Windows Pro typically has an easier time accessing shares

You can try just googling 0x80070035 and there are many entries.
BTW - I've had similar problems with trying to share between Win 10 and 11. My Win 10 PC can see and share with Win 11, but my Win 11 can't see or share with the Win 10. I've tried for months to fix without success.

Of course, I googled the error. To clarify, I already have a year old Windows 11 laptop on the network and it doesn't have this share problem that's why I am baffled.

Besides the new laptop, I have had two computers with windows 11 home OS and neither had this share issue.

I had the same issue. I could see the win 11 c drive on win 10 file, but couldn't open any folders due to permissions. Everything was shared as instructed. Oddly enough I couldn't see the win 10 machine on the win 11.

Given the sunsetting on win 10 support I planned to abandon that machine anyway and gave up on trying to get them talking to each other. Files were moved via an external hard drive and the older machine is turned off.
