OK, I am not the only one here with a Sirius radio subscription. I have one for my old 2012 Chevrolet pickup. One for the house an another for DW's car. That makes three.

DW's car is about $6 a month since she got it when she bought it new last December. Me ? I fight with them all the time when they raise my price from $6 or so to whatever their new monthly rate is (about $25). I call them and talk with someone a long ways away and we get it back down to where it was.

Now I am paying $19 each for my old truck and the house. Plus $6 for DW's car. I guess I can live with that, but if I don't watch it the rate will go up over $30 on my credit card and I have to catch it.

How do you all handle your Sirius accounts ?

We have SiriusXM on two of our cars and the app for our iPhones. I just got my car last month, so it’s free for a year. Our bill is $40, but we get all their channels.

Currently paying $5.48/mo. Previously paid $6.66/mo (2024-2027) and $7.99/mo prior to that (2022-2024).

Our Subaru has Sirius built in and that vehicle is what the subscription is for. I run it off of my Pixel 9a using Android Auto in my truck which didn't come with it.

I use it mostly for talk radio, mostly POTUS channel and The Blend for music.

I realize I am not in the car often enough to warrant it, and let them lapse after the free period.
However, I do recall when I last had it, that they allowed me to use the app on a computer. Can you use one membership on your phone which you can use both in the house and truck?

Or, is there a family membership that you can get so it can be used in all locations for one fee (hopefully lower than 3 separate ones).

I got rid of them. Even at what I was paying, $5/month, they just weren't worth it to me. I went ahead and started buy Apple Music (though any music service would probably work). It works off my phone when in the car via Car Play and I get to select the exact music I want to hear. I really value the ability to play a specific song or album any time I want. If you're a fan of something other than music on XM, you may have to pay the fee, but I just didn't see the value.

I let it lapse and within 2 months they come back to me with the lowest rate, which recently for me was 4.48 monthly all in.
I used to fight with them, but go this route now.

We have it in both Jeeps, current rate is about $7 per month per vehicle. We can also listen to it online thru the app or on their webste, no additional charge. We listen to only a handful of channels. About the only time we listen to terrestrial radio is when we go into the city for traffic reports.

We have one membership and use it in the Subaru. I also use it on my cellphone at home or in my truck using Android Auto and sometimes on our home tv using the Sirius app on our Fire TV stick.

+1 They wanted to increase mine and I said no. Then they wanted a smaller increase but still more than what I was then paying so I cancelled. Sure enough, in a month or two I got something in the mail offering me an even better rate then I had before.

I’ve had it in two cars continuously since inception. I’ve also threatened to cancel but never have. We’ve gotten new rates when we purchased new cars, but I think we lost money in those transactions 😀

We used to have to play the game where we had to call to get a new promotional rate the moment the previous one expired. Now you can do so with their AI system. You log into the account, and indicate that you want to cancel the account. Their bot will offer another promotional rate, and you say yes, and then you have the promotional rate again for the next 12 months.

They are getting better. Now I get my renewal bill (via email) ~30days in advance. Within a few days i'll call and ask for "what specials" they have. Always get my bill cut in half or more in a few minutes and if I dicker a little I may get it down a little more. Just renewed mine last week and got it for less than $5mo. Only took one ~5min call.

Car1 2014 is getting offers for $3/mo for 3 years.

Car2 2024 is getting $4/mo for 12 months.

I would jump on the $3/mo if it was for Car2.

I get a 90 day trial offer from time to time. One that doesn't require a credit card on file. I currently have a subscription primarily to listen to the Milwaukee Brewer games.

I got tired of fighting them every year for seven years. In July 2023, I called in one last time. I wanted the 3-year/$99 or 5-year/$149 deal some were getting around that time. Having the longer promotion period would reduce the frequency I would need to call in. But no such luck. At best, it was 1-year/$60.

So, I canceled in July 2023 and haven't gone back. I now have a USB thumb drive with roughly 1,400 songs on it. Given that we have a touch over 1,200 retail music CDs, I have a lot more music to choose from. I haven't missed Sirius XM or its lower digital quality since.

I have an endless supply of CDs, 4-tracks and (heaven-forbid) FM radio. No need for Sirius - especially since I rarely drive more than a few miles.

That's what I do when my low rate deal expires, I just use my phone in the car till they come around with the $6/mo deal.

I just renewed my subscription but entire transaction was with their AI and done online. Actually a delight not to deal with CSR rep whose English is not their native tongue. We started at 148/yr and ended at $8/mon. (96/yr). Considered doing a full cancel but DW was clear i was to keep.🤷‍♀️

We have two cars with subscriptions and a sirius boombox that i bought 10 years ago that still has the lifetime subscription. I switched our 2 cars to the platinum vip plan a few years ago for $47/month, which also includes streaming on the siriusxm app on our mobile devices. The vip plan comes with access to the nugs.net concert recordings. I can't even remember the last time I listened to am/fm radio in my car.

While we don't get (or want) the concert recordings, we can, and do, stream S/XM on our phones and tablet or on the S/XM website for no extra charge.

Ignore the offers to renew for several months. Eventually, you will receive something under $5/mo. Just did this with wife's subscription. Got it for $3.99, I believe.

I do the annual dance and right now am at $12.12/ total for both cars. Not bad.
DW and I love music so well worth it to us even if we only do 6-7,000 miles per year for each car. Love Deep Tracks with Earle Bailey.

$4.19/month including taxes for one car. I think it's about $3.29 per month before tax. That also includes use of the app on my phone or any other phone which we sign into, which I then bluetooth to any car. I'll have to call them in December or January, just like any other year.
