SpaceX IPO coming in mid to late 2026

I knew I saw this somewhere, but couldn’t remember where. From Fidelity’s website:

They don’t specify an end time. I’m curious, how do you know it’s 9pm PDT?

This is going to be a bit of a commitment, since I’m currently in Europe. I’ll have to accept between 1am to 6am. Sleep or SpaceX? Choices…
Fri 7am end time. (4 am my time) But dont wait that long.....

Cash to flip and the others hodl?
(If I get any) Will sell the IRA and Cash shares & buy back in my roth. If not Fri, down the road. Been the plan for 10 yrs.
Then put the funds from cash & Ira back to earning 3 1/2% -4.25%. :)
If I get zero, will look at it again after the lock up, late 2026/2027.

I'm pretty sure you'll need to confirm your commitment by midnight. I believe it would need to be by 11:59pm ET.
Any response after midnight would likely be considered a day late.

Hope you don't lose too much sleep!

FYI
CNBC breaking news:
"Iran State Media: ALL COMPANIES OWNED BY ELON MUSK CONSIDERED MILITARY TARGETS"

Who knows if this is real, but in case it is, it may have some (minor?) effect on the IPO. Who knows, and hopefully this post will not be flagged as inappropriate.

Since SpaceX has now confirmed that they are sticking to $135. Don't know if you still need to confirm your share numbers again.

Update from Fidelity:

The registration statement for Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Class A Common Stock Initial Public Offering is expected to be declared effective and the offering to be priced this evening, 06/11/2026. The confirmation period is expected to occur between 7:00 PM ET and 12:00 AM ET this evening. We will send you a separate notice of effectiveness/pricing and a request for confirmation of indication of interest.

To be eligible for an allocation of shares in this offering, you MUST confirm your indication of interest through Fidelity.com after effectiveness and pricing. Confirmed indications are orders to buy and may be accepted in whole, or in part, or not at all by Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC. Confirming your indication of interest does not guarantee an allocation of shares in the offering.

So 1am to 6am in Europe (CET). Ouch.

Just got a call from Schwab asking if I had any questions about the SPCX IPO.
I was shocked. I only trade online and dont have a managed acct.
Out of state call, thought it was spam. :D

Had you done a conditional order to purchase?

I did so at Schwab and Fidelity. Got a call from my Schwab rep this morning about the IPO, just telling me that the period to affirm would be between 7PM to 7AM. (Also that they've been told that things might be running late tonight if nothing appears to be ready at 7PM.)

No call from Fidelity where my account is of a similar size.

Just heard on CNBC that they are now expecting retail to get lower than the earlier anticipated 35% (instead somewhere in the 20's in term of percent of the IPO) and that more of the IPO is going to "long only" firms and less to hedge funds, etc.

We shall see - I got the impression on the Schwab side that I might get some, but given the CNBC report and how these work, who knows. I somewhat did this as a test - have multi-million dollar AUM in both places and it is NOT in an employer plan (e.g. a 401k) but instead in normal accounts (regular brokerage or Trad IRA and Roth). I also only tried for a reasonable amount (e.g. 100-200 shares).

from Etrade -

The registration statement for the public offering of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SPCX) has been declared effective by the SEC. You've submitted a conditional offer to buy (COB) securities in this offering.

If you'd like to modify or cancel your COB, you can do so through the New Issue Center during the offering's withdrawal time, which has now begun and will last for at least an hour after the time this alert was sent.

If you do not withdraw your COB, E*TRADE may accept it after the withdrawal time and allocate shares to you. Please note, however, that placing a COB does not guarantee that shares will be allocated to you.

Don’t the employees who currently own shares have to wait 6 months to sell them? If so, perhaps that is the time to buy.

SpaceX is using a staggered unlock schedule.

20% unlocks after the Q2 earnings.

There are five 7% unlocks from day 70 to day 135.

28% after Q3 earnings.

Day 180 remainder of unlock.

Elon and other big wigs do not unlock for one year.

Q2 earnings - you mean in about 6 weeks?

I confirmed my interest. I would imagine they don't distribute shares till after midnight EST cause I think that is the confirmation time frame . Just guessing

What will SPCX hit tomorrow any wild guess?

My guess $350.

Harder to guess is whether the pop will last through close on Monday and if that will affect BPTRX NAV if I order a sale on Monday.

It has been my experience in the past with a FIDO IPO offering, you'll get an e-mail in the morning telling you how many shares you bought, and it will be reflected in your account accordingly.
