Switching Medigap Plans

I like John's point that the Medigap insurer is basically getting paid for doing almost nothing.
True. Despite that those same insurers work hard to sell us an alternative policy option (MA).

Does anyone know if you go on a high deductible Plan G-does the regular $240 deductible count towards the overall $2800 deductible?
Or would the total amount of deductibles be $3040?

The $240 counts towards the $2800.

The 2025 Part B deductible is $257 and 2025 HD-G is $2870.

Thank you! I did know that they were both increasing but I couldn’t remember the amounts.
I downloaded my claims for this year into excel and even if I paid 20% on the full amount- before the Medicare accepted charge- it would only be about $1200.
It got me thinking about a HD-G plan.

I will never understand why physician's billing process invoices supplemental plans directly. The insurance company that provides supplemental plans ignore these invoices. They only pay (after meeting the Part B deductible, plus whatever other user deductible associated expenses with the supplemental plan is met) after Medicare forwards the remaining 20% portion to signify it's a Medicare-approved medical expense. I've had this discussion with my PCP billing manager but they continue to insist on doing this. I guess it makes them feel better.

My dad said he doesn't even get billed the deductible sometimes. He doesn't understand it. He has Blueshield of CA.
