I am starting to accept the fact that it might be time for a new boiler. The technician today said that the good model is the System 2000. He said it was very efficient and state of the art. The company web site of course says it is the best.

It seems to be made of steel instead of cast iron and claims as much as 40% savings on oil. The tech did say to expect sticker shock. This new oil company bought my previous one and may seem to suck money based on my recent repair. The System 2000 may be best because it is the one that they push.

My neighbor just got a new boiler from a local oil company that is now owned by several guys from the sportsman club where he shoots trap or skeet. He says they did a good job (and he knows about stuff) so I am going to ask this company as well. This is smaller but in my town. There web site is very limited. I am guessing that they might just have you pick a boiler and then install it for you. But I will have to ask them.

Anyone have experience with these System 2000 boilers?

I assume you're talking about the boilers from Energy Kinetics? I don't have their System 2000 but I did get their Ascent Combi Plus in 2019. My fuel oil bill dropped pretty significantly - hard to say how much because it varies so much year to year. Most years I'd say my oil bill is 25 to 50% less than it used to be. But then I replaced a VERY old and inefficient boiler.

So far, the Ascent Combi has been great - it does my heat and hot water. You can configure how you want it supply hot water - always available or on demand. I have it set for on-demand. In the winter, hot water is instantaneous because the boiler is already hot from heating the house. In the summer I need to wait about a minute for hot water, but for me that's not a big deal and I like saving energy.
