While (re)watching a series called “The Impossible Peace” on Amazon Prime, I was curious about a place The Berghof in Germany and found a travel site with information and photos.

The series is interesting and covers the period between the World Wars.

I realize the material might be offensive so don’t mind if this post is nuked.

Hitler’s Berghof

When we were in the area we didn't look for the Berghof because it was said there was nothing left to see, but we did go up to the Eagle's Nest (cafe).

Sounds interesting. I’m embarrassed at how little I knew of that history pre-retirement. While working I was part of a collaboration that included a group from Dresden and had no idea of what had happened there.

Always interested in WWII era history for some reason. "Band of Brothers" had an episode in which they had captured the "Eagles Nest."

Me too for some reason. NOW reading "History of the Second World War" by Sir Basil Liddell Hart.

Somewhat of a misnomer at I THINK it ignores the Pacific. Interesting so far. Poland just got run over (SHOCK! LOL)

On our last trip to Bavaria, we wanted to visit the Berghof. Unfortunately, it was closed for renovation when we arrived. They suggested we instead drive the alpine road, which goes up into the mountains in Obersalzberg. It was absolutely stunning. If you're in that area, I highly recommend it.
